I agree with you that the woodie will come in 2004 however like I said before I believe its going to be intamin. You see the Grand Public wont see a wooden coaster as that big of a deal, and with an intamin woodie could come an intamin gyro drop.

So, we could get an intamin gyro drop with a GCI wooden, plus SF seems to like to go with GCI woodens anyway. Oh and its General Public not grand public , sorry just thought I'd correct ya for future reference.

I really don't want an intamin woodie, though, cause from what I've heard they're pretty rough.

the new "plug and play" conceptis like this, normal wood coasters have 8 wood planks to acts as rails, well ntmin basicly smushed them all together to form 1 solid block of wood, and it uses the hyoer trains on it, it is said that collous at heide park is smooth as steel. other intaim woods are roung cuz they did not have this technology yet, colossus is the only one.

Yes, but aren't the supports steel??? And I would hate to see that cause if we get a wooden coaster I want it to look like wood, you know.

where do you think the wooden will go and i fear that a big park like gadv will get a woodie that loops which would take away the whole purpose of a woodie but a coaster like colossus would be a welcome addition in my book

Two coasters and a drop tower next year? I don't think so. I'm thinkin the flyer and an acrophobia drop tower next year would be the best bet. BTW, What's a "plug and play" woodie?

No, I do not think we will get a wooden next year. Most likely 2004. Currently the only wood coaster company that builds coasters with loops is RCCA and currently they only have like 5 max coasters built from what I understand, so I doubt a woodie with a loop.

a "plug and play" coaster. that term was coined over at coasterbuzz and is not the real project name. it is called that becasue all track peices have a serial number. itsjust one plank of wood track(a bolck of wood) instead of 8 2by4's and if a part fo the ride gets rough they can just call up the local lumber yard, tell them the serial number on the piece that needs replacing and they make a new peice to mock the original piece. making matenence just as easy as if it were steel. and no JJ the supports are wood. and so is the track, justa new concept in wood coaster technology. if you want the only existing example go to rcdb.com/installationdetail988.htmhere is a shot of Intamins track style rcdb.com/installationgallery988.htm?Picture=14 and ehre is a shot of normal wooden coaster track rcdb.com/installationgallery132.htm?Picture=1btw-thats rolling thunder just to show you, these thigns are jammed with airtime rcdb.com/installationgallery988.htm?Picture=13

also i did not say 2 coasters and a drop tower, i sadi that if we get an Intmain woodie i think a drop tower along with it would bring up attendance not a woodie alone, if we get a flyer then that would be all.

Seeing that pic of colossos at Heide has made me not mind if we get an intamin. However, I still tend to believe it will be a GCI since SF seems to like to go with GCI's.

JJ i dont really think they want another regular wooden coaster from GCI that requires upkeep, these Intamins require upkeep but only the thing is, it only needs as much as any steel coaster, nto a wooden one. making it much more profitable.
