Coasters: Batman The Ride: Stable all year/little downtime Chiller: Very bad start to the season but nice comeback! Medusa: Another stable ride with few breakdowns GASM: Getting old but still running strong NITRO: Very good crew this year fast moving lines. Viper: I am leaving this one alone RT: Still packs a punch but needs work on track/trains
Flat Rides were running most of the year except for the three favorites.
It has been a good year but Gadv needs to work on those flats. And make sure chiller is ready to go opeaning day.
Stuntman needs a rehavb along with GASM, RT, and BTR.
Remember this is in my opinion. I am probably leaving things out so fill in the rest.

Viper was running every time I had been to the park. The only ride that was questionable all season IMO was Chiller.

Medusa broke down three times on us while waiting in line, three different days for us. (why does it keep getting stuck on the brakes before the final set of loops in the back of the loading station?) Robin side of the Chiller was shut down on us once right when it was our turn after waiting all the time for front seats. But then at the end of the night after it reopened, the ride OP I think name was Dawn let us ride 5 consecutive times in the front without getting out of the seat.

I also believe GADV had a great 2002 season. Of course, it had it's couple of downfalls, but overall I really enjoyed going there about once a month.
Does anybody know if the Shuttle ride will ever open again?

Joker- Those brakes are the "Block Brakes"... Scream Machine has a set also, and so does Nitro. They will bring a train to a stop if the computer deems it unsafe to continue the course (i.e. a Ride Stop was pushed, the next block is occupied, power failure, etc.) It's more of a "Safety Cut-Out" than a breakdown.
Anyway, here's the scoop on the rest of the season, as much as I know it. Right side of Rolling Thunder is done for the year. The anti-rollbacks and the high speed curve are worn out completely. Viper is running "strong", but they are, once again, running out of guide wheels. IF it goes down within the next couple weeks, it's not down for good; but it may take a while before the new order comes in.

Heh... Beat this... Before this summer the last amusement park ive been to (Great Adventure) was TEN FREAKIN' YEARS AGO!!! I made it there this summer like 11 times!!! I don't believe it myself!!! (I kept all my ticket stubs for proof, heh) On our way down there for the first time this year my friend was telling me about some Batman and Robin ride and I didn't believe him. I said to myself, "Why would they name two rides in the same park so closely since they already had a Batman ride?" But man at that time I didn't know what I was in for this summer When we got to the park, he took us right to the Chiller (which we could hear roaring through the track all the way out in the parking lot) to show us that infact, there was another Batman named ride which is now my all time favorite. When I was a kid I remember the Scream Machine was brand new, 2 hour and 40min wait and it scared the livin' sh1t out of me, lol. It's strange to be able to walk right up and on it with no line sometimes and even ride it multiple times without having to get out of the seat. I hope they never tear it down. Still a good ride for how old it is. Viper can go for all I'm concerned though, lol. After ten years of not going to any park I gotta say this was a summer to remember... Dorney Park... Great Adventure... Cedar Point and Worlds of Adventure.

there's no question that the chiller has been very spotty in its operation. but GASM had problems 2 out of the 4 times i went there this summer while i was in line--i think it's really showing its age. stuntman opened and closed multiple times each day i was there as well. batman has had its occassional share of mysterious closings too. but with the exception of older rides and the chiller, things have been running smoothly while i've been there.

Great Adventure... Cedar Point and Worlds of Adventure. Stubs? Please say you didn't pay full price each time you went If you have stubs then you must not have a season pass. It’s the best 80 bucks you can give Six Flags. I've been to SFA 3 times, SFGadv. 25+ times and SFNE once and I will hopefully get to SFOT while away on business this year. As far as I'm concerned, I've had a great season for a VERY cheap price:) All in all the park was ok with exception of the few attractions we knew would be closed or missing. Rolling Thunder was my biggest disappointment due to running the right side almost all season and no yellow train at all for the left. I have a feeling everybody here will be pleasantly surprised next season though. It should be MUCH better than this year.

Just a side note to Wade.
Glad your playing with the idea of doing SFoT soon. You will be in for a pleasant surpise. SFoT does not feel like, or even run like, every SF park out there. Fantastic operations, employees, theme, and great rides.
Not only do I rank it as the best Six Flags park I've been to (and I've done a good number of SF parks), I'd say it is up there with Disney and Universal quality parks.
Please get me a back seat ride on Texas Giant along with a ride on Shockwave!

yeah cause of the coaster True, but I wasn't talking about the coaster I'll keep ya posted on SFOT Rob. I was only 11 the last time I was there. I do remember it being very nice though. I'm hoping to push my trip from Nov. to Dec. because they are only open Thanksgiving weekend in November. Nothing like having your priorities straight for business huh:)?

Nah... Not full price. We had the $20 off coke can discounts. I know.. I know.. The thing is we hadn't planned on going so much! IT'S BEEN TEN YEARS SINCE IVE BEEN TO ANY PARKS!! It went like this; After going to Dorney and G.Adv about three times we said we where burnt out on the amusement park scene. Then we seen the shows on the Discovery Channel and then heard about Millennium Force and BOOM! Next thing you know we're driving out to Sandusky OHIO, lol. We had absolutley no idea that there was even a Six Flags out there until we seen the brown Six Flags signs about a hour and a half away from Cedar Point on Rt80. So then we stopped there at Worlds of Adventure on our second day out there (We just couldn't resist trying the flying coaster). That was suppose to be this years grand finale for us, then... We'd be going to the mall on our day off work then out of the blue all bored out of minds- "Let's go to G.Adv" I don't know how many times I was out hangin' with friends and we just decided out of nowhere to go...lol. It's weird when you've been there so much that it feels more like home then home does. I'm definetly getting season passes next year to both, Dorney Park and Great Adventure even if there's no planned trips. Oh yea, that reminds me... This one guy I used to work with told me that seasons passes to Dorney Park would also get me in Cedar Point and Great Adventure passes would be good for all Six Flags parks, is this true? Man I hope not....LOL! We could of updated our tickets to Worlds of Adventure to season passes for only $29.99 the day we where there...LOL! Oh well... Not a big deal... The important part is I had a kickass summer (best since '95) and you only live once. It was worth every penny! And yes... I have this funny feeling inside that next year will be even better!
