Fright fest sounds like its going to be fun. I am planning to go down there on October 5th. Only problem is I have no car and will probably take the NJ Transit bus. Does anyone know where exactly the bus stops to let off and pick up passengers ? Is it near the main entrance or way outside ( I hate to walk ). I wouldnt want to miss the safari - a friend at work told me they have buses which take you on a tour of the Safari. Any idea where I can catch a tour bus ?

You can go to the Safari Guest Relations to get a ticket for the Safari Tour Bus. The only bad thing about it is its a seperate fee (5 dollars last year) and you must have a safari ticket or a season pass.

Yes, they drop you off right in front of the entrance. But, keep in mind this is a VERY large park and I'd say you can walk a total of like 40 miles in one day, I wouldn't be surprised if walking from nitro to medusa is 1 or 2 miles alone.

nah it more like 3/4 miles from nitro to medusa because i sprinted across the park in 4 mins and it takes me 6:50 to run a mile......but the point is don't worry about walking from the bus because you will do tons more in the park....and remember its all for the COASTERS!!!!.although it is past october 5th when he said he was going..still useful information

october 5th passed, but here's the info anyway: i took a nj transit bus to great adventure just last month. there is a separate bus entrance up the road from the main entrance that brings you right into the parking lot. it's not that far--there are small signs there on poles marking the bus dropoff/pickup spot. as you're leaving the park, if you stay along the left edge of the parking lot, you'll be right there. the buses from new york are still running, but according to the site, the bus from philly and camden stops running on september 29th. i don't know about the lakewood and freehold buses. here's the link: www.njtransit.com/ne_specialpromos_sfga.shtm

That "separate bus entrance" is the highly-talked about EMPLOYEE ENTRANCE. And, for anyone that's interested, there is a little gate in the bus stop area to go from the guest parking lot to the employee parking lot... So no "sneaking around" is involved... ~Dan

Taking the bus is not a fun way to get to GA. Lats season for Fright Fest on Friday's I'd have to take the bus. It is not fun at all. I'd take the bus from my house at 1:30 get to Lakewood terminal by 2:15 and have to wait an hour for the bus to GA. It sucked. Plus all the weird guys in the terminal would hit on me. BLECHH!!! (I took the bus the other day to Freehold and some nasty guy asked me for my number. EEEWW! I gave him the number for GADV. ;D) Danielle
