Wow... I haven't checked this thread in a few days. Yes! Big announcement! On the 11th! As soon as I get home from work! But, the news may not be totally favorable......
As for the smell... you should ride Rolling Thunder when the wind is just right. Those monkeys can really stink sometimes! :-P

I personally have never encountered a smell from the safari on RT or Medusa or any ride at Gadv. Anyway when do you get home from work I know you leave at 5:30, but when do you get home???

It's killing me..... The news is not favorable if what I know is true. Make sure you can't get in trouble even after quiting for posting this info on here. Maybe you should create a fake account and "leak" the info.?

Good idea about the second account thing. Despite the rumors, I do not recall reading, seeing, or signing anything that prohibits me from leaking information I've learned from legitimate sources. I just like keeping you in suspense! As for the two sides thing, it is just as fun for the ride crew as it is for the guests! It is impossible to accomplish without a top-notch team, and that doesn't always happen. Usually we don't have enough staff, or there are not enough guests in the park, to warrant the opening of both sides. We do it occasionally to run out the line on one side, and close it, to open up the other side, usually to kill a long line. But, that way, we only race the trains a few times. Another setback is the yellow train, which I don't think will be finished for the 2002 season. Electricians blame the mechanics. Mechanics blame the electricians. Supervisors blame the fiberglass technicians. They blame the carpenters. With two trains on the right side, and one train on the left, racing is very difficult and very impractical. With the blue train out of service, we did race this past weekend, for about six hours each day. I test rode for the first time during a race, and it was absolutely amazing! Although RT is not as technologically advanced as Lightning Racers, for example, we still pretend. (The operators have full responsibility of controlling the fairness of each race, since the right side is much shorter than the left side. Hell, we can't even see who wins from the operator's booth!) Even so, I really wish we could have done it more often this season! MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!

Hey Dan, you can get in legal troble if you leak any info about the park. When you fill out your application it says it.

Hey Dan, you can get in legal treble if you leak any info about the park. When you fill out your application it says it. Six flags wouldn't spend the time to prosecute an 18 year old ride op who "leaks information" that will most likely change a bit when all said in done. All SFGadv would do is say "we never said that" and that would be the end of it. No offence to you Dan. "18 year old Ride Op part” I am looking forward to your announcement even though it may not be favorable. Change is what makes a place like Great Adventure "GREAT". And if they remove a coaster or a flat ride just remember: 1. There is probably a reason for this they don't just remove rides for the hell of it. Like TIME WARP, if GA doesn't decide to have the Summer of Festivals next year it will probably return to its original spot. 2. it’s unpopular and costly to run. Just because you may like it doesn't mean everyone else likes it. VIPER for example. 3. Finally terminal. The ride can't be fixed. Evolution for example. No parts so you dump it and replace it with something. One thing that really bugs me about SF is all the secrecy bull----. Just announce if your getting rid of a ride so we don’t have to go through this ---- every year. SF really needs to take care of its parks more than they do. I mean if your walking past Rolling Thunder and take a look at it you see peeling paint, one side closed, it looks like it’s a hundred years old I mean if you’re a guest that doesn’t visit very often and look at that thing would you want to ride it? The rides Great but GA could fix it up a little. (Once again offence to you Dan.) It seems like the only two parks that are taken care of is Magic Mountain and the one near CP. Same deal with Scream Machine. Six Flags gets me so mad sometimes. I apologize for rambling on this post but I felt like venting.

Very good post CoasterGuy!
Let me begin by saying I was indeed a manager - a supervisor - with the Recording Studio. I have reviewed many applications with the park - scrutinzed every clause - and I can not recall anything remotely close to this secrecy stuff. So I don't care. Besides, I have hundreds of witnesses to back me up here, right guys!
BTW, we are back to running two trains on the right side as of yesterday night, Friday. Blue train got some new road wheels.
MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!
