Visiting Massachusetts for a colege trip, the possibility to get back to SFNE was low at the start, but with a hotel room in Amherst and the night open, my sister and I were able to take a short ride over to Agawam. Sadly we didn't realize that the park closed at 8 the whole week. Getting there at around 6, we were at least able to get on Batman Dark Knight, Thunderbolt, and Cyclone...the three coasters I hadn't yet ridden at the park. Dark Knight, though very good, was no Medusa. I am quite content with the original. Thunderbolt was short, but still a good ride. Finally we got to Cyclone and had a ball. The coaster is very thrilling and nice and long. Crowds were average, wasn't expecting to wait quite as long as we did. Got three rides in in about 1 1/2-2 hours.

Cyclone use to be much better before Six Flags bought the park. The dip bigger and there was no trim brakes. It was deemed too rough by SF so the dip was tamed and trim brakes were added. You can see the old drop under the new one. It still packs a punch though.

I like the cyclone. It has nice airtime and some fun lateral G's, even after the last trim brakes. It's rougher when it's hot and faster when it's wet, but I like it no matter what.... That's a double entendre, isn't it?

The Riverside Cyclone is a great coaster. I have to say that Six Flags did an awesome job to this ride. Thank god the Morgan trains were replaced with PTC's. It tracks SO much better and the train keeps that Morgan pain away.
Yes, Six Flags did reprofile the first drop. But WOW it is STILL just as sick. The first drop (which looks so small) and the third drop produce the most intense airtime anywhere (although the Texas Giant and Raven can compair) on a wooden coaster.
