i went to SFNE for two days, and i have to say, it is a great place. they have good theming, good rides that arent down, and magnificent roller coasters.
there was only one thing that bothered me, on roller coasters, they always wait till the other train is in the brake run before they dispatch the other train. lines were very long.
my scale is from 1-10. 1= bad 10= very good
coasters: THUNDERBOLT: 8.5 this thing packs a punch, i thought it was going to be small and boring, but it is great!!!! it has good airtime and this is the best woodie that i have ever ridden
CYCLONE: 5 this thing is a litle rough. every time it speeds up you can feel the train rumble, i dont like it, it was ok.
BATMAN DK 9 it is too shoret, but it maintains its speed throughout the ride. the wait is too long, but they have things talking about people from batman which is interesting. i rode in the front row and this is amazing.
MIND ERASER 9 this is a great ride, a little rough but great. the slits next to your eas on the restraint are annoying, but the rest of the ride is great. inversions are awesome, specially in the fromt row. is one of the best rides ever!
SUPERMAN RIDE OF STEEL: 115 this is definatley the best ride ever. backseat is great, but front is the best. when i rode in the front it was raining a little, and after the ride i was freezing because of the mists and speed. i love the mists filled tunnels, and how it doest slow down that much on top of the hills to profuce great airtime, the g-forces are amazing on the helices.
Flashback: i didnt ride because the wait is like 40-50 mins. so i thought it was wayyyyy too much.
rides/flat rides:
nightwing: 8 this is a great ride. it gives a uniqe expirence of flying. made me dizzy though.
scream:7 this is the best S&S tower ever. it shoots you up and down, on the same ride. it is amazing. the drop down is the pest drop.
shipwreck falls: 8 it is a normal chute the shootes, it is great though. i like it how people can wet you with wates blasts/guns while you are on the bridge.
blizzard river: 10 the best ever rapids i have ever been on. it has great theming and a ton of misters that dont let you see the rest of the ride . and they make sure you get wet. very fast too.
the waterpark: it was raining and cold the day i went. the wave pool was freezing cold.
i had a great time. you must go to this park, it is awesome

I'm glad your trip was better than mine. Other than the numerous ride closures, long lines, yellow jackets buzzing around the overflowing trash cans, rude guest, gang related issues, 2 1/2 mile walk from the parking lot, etc., etc., my trip was great SROS is the best steel coaster I've been on. It's a real shame that it took 3 hours to get on (including the 20 minutes it broke down). This was the worst park I've ever been to. They do have a great assortment of coasters and rides along with excellent theming. It's truly a shame that I couldn't enjoy this on my trip.

As you arrive at the park, (with the park on your right) we were forced to make a left, go down a hill, up a hill to the pay gates. Then we had to go almost to the very back of this lot. The tram only went from the front corner of this over to the pedestrian bridge, which didn't help much either. Also, you couldn't get a stroller on the tram so we had to push it up and down the hill and then over the bridge to get to the park. This was the craziest parking setup I've ever seen. I have a feeling I was there on a very busy day. (Judging by the number of cars towards the back of the lot) The other thing that REALLY pissed me off was that the entire time we were in line for SROS, NOT ONCE did we see a guest sitting in the Fast Lane seats. That equals 8 riders per train, 16 with both running. That would have made a HUGE difference in the wait time. Although I was being anal about the trashcans, it does get scary for somebody who is allergic such as myself. I'm talking about the cans that are in the intertwining mess of a line queue for SROS. We were forced to stand there next to them while waiting in line. It also didn't smell too nice. Of course, in typical SF fashion, they were still selling lemon frosties and bottled water. This park has great potential. They just need to learn how to operate it first. I must admit it is probably better on a not so crowded day. It still shouldn’t matter though.

Next time I go Wade, I should invite you. Although the trip always starts as crap, the day is always a blast. The Cyclone has an operating schedule shorter than Viper, but it's always worth it to keep you eye on it.
The park is always clean when I go, but I always go mid-week. Their grounds employees actually do their job! I realize their grounds are much smaller. I am always fascinated how they get all of those nice bushes, bathrooms, and everything seems almost freshly painted.
The minors that work there are a bit arrogant. They get told what to do in school, so they enjoy telling the adults what to do, and I think they tell us where to stick it to. However, some of the people at our park are like that too. Depends where they live.

I'll go Who cares about my job anyway. As for the grounds, I'll have to see it mid-week. I didn't know that trash could pile this high. The place itself is very nice. The theming, atmosphere, landscaping, etc. was great. Most diappointing was still the number of closed attractions (including the cyclone which looks awesome), the long walk from the parking lot and by far the worst guests I have ever run into at a park. I would still go back but it probably would never be with my family ever again. (maybe mid-week) I'll be going to Kings Island and Cedar point this weekend. I'll be sure to post a TR when I return next week. Btw- does anybody else think that some of the walkways at SFNE to narrow? I found myself in many traffic jams.

When I went there in August '01 Superman was closed (cuz the train crash but looked awesome..), but there wasnt many ride closures, except near Mind Eraser. All the other coasters and the majority of the flats were open.I don't remember the trash cans, though. But I do remember having to park across the street from the park, in that lot, and havin to take the tram over there. It was kinda long to walk especially on a hot day. The waterpark was way too crowded, and yea, some of the paths are a bit small. I thought Cyclone was an excellent woodie though. I loved it! I got to go on when they had this thing for season pass holders where u enter the park at 9 (instead of regular 10) and go on rides in a certain section of the park. One day, it was for Cyclone. Front and back rows, so Great!! ;D But the lines were horrendous late in the day. That's one of the best woodies ive been on. Not to mention fast.

Man you guys must have bad luck. I think the park is in great condition and the longest I ever waited for Superman was 45 minutes. I've gone there 4 times all on the fourth of July weekend. This park is great and with a few more world class coasters and a few more flats this park could be better then SFGAdv. As for Parking, its no bigger then SFGAdv, there about thew same its just SFNE's is further from the park, but they have a tram. Even if you park in the back it isnt far to the tram.

NYRfan, I agree about the cyclone. I was very surprised, it ended up being one of the better woodies I've been on. It was rough, but not too rough(like the "REAL" cyclone). I also thought SFNE was a very good park. I think Batman was kinda weak though, maybe im just spoiled by medusa, and the other floorless designs i've ridden. About S:ROS, believe the hype. It is an excellent ride, definately my #2 steel. Good speed, great layout(the mist filled tunnels are awesome), and great airtime make this an outstanding ride. Only Millennium Force beats this coaster, but not by much.

It will take a lot and some time for it to be better than gadv's. This park has potential but has a while to get to the max. People won't view it as Six flags biggest parks its in the smaller variety and they should work on this one.
