Nothing is going on with GASM next season. I do have hope that the Boardwalk section of the park will get another face-lift over the off season, with the new coaster going in and all. Although, I very much doubt that happening. On a side note, I expect the park to do something similar to what SFoG did with their flyer. The "Superman theme" section is only a few feet wide and only was built to make the flyer look as if it is in a correctly themed section. I don’t think they will just throw the entrance for it right in the Boardwalk. -Rob i was just looking at s:uf @ sfog at rcdb and the theming seems a heck of a lot bigger than "a few feet wide": www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1568.htm?Picture=30

Well, I've been there and I'd say it was rather small.
Maybe the picture does not do it justice. But mind you, what is shown in that picture is the *entire* themed section. That photo was taken right at the entrance to S:UF. Anyone can see it's not big at all.

Durring CC we were told that Rolling Thunder would not be running both sides, due to major track work and renovation being done on the right side. At the turn around you could see where much of the track had been removed from the right side. The right side will not reopen this year because the work is major it also includes a complete rehab of the trains as well. Will just have to see what they do over the winter.

Maybe it's a form of compensation for getting another steelie this year (as happy with that as I am) and because that part of the park will probably begin to get considerably more traffic, if they connect it with the Boardwalk and the entrance of S:UF (I think it's safe to call it that now). Speaking of that... I wonder if they're gonna do anything to Viper.

zeusagis I can't help but mock you a little since I've yet to find a nice post from you (although I will admit I am still looking). The right sides closure and rehab of the trains was already reported, and is nothing new. In fact the trains are the reason this thread was started

Hopefully both trains for both sides will get completly revamped. As for retracking , great! Rolling thunder is an awsome coaster , and I'd love to see it back to its glory. With improvements like this to rolling thunder and the addition of the flyer , next year will be a great year for gadv. Who knows , there may be other park improvements planned that we will not know about until opening day next year. I'm sure gadv has not shown all their cards , yet.

You are right there is nothing new about the rehab project I was just reminding you of it, and I didn't flame anyone. Sorry you have a problem with the way I post.

Dan as a reply to your post. i am not "causing a problem with you", however take a look at your earlier posts under a different name - attacking people who don't know this board exists is weak - Yeah i worked at the same time you did - however i don't attack people for what there job was or is. As you have an intense feeling for telling everyone about your job over the summer - some of the people you attacked have families to support and are doing the best they can under the bad leadership out of ok- Oh and by the way to answer some questions the ride is going in the preferred parking lot and the entrance will be were the shuttle or old scrambler ride was.

In order to support my argument, I’d like to summarize some of Bigshow’s more potent posts on these boards:
August 5, 2002: hey dan, your a real dork, so many people have been in your position(probably more than your age), and none of them have been such a perfect idoit when it comes to the operation of a ride or a major theme park. Take it from some one that operated your ride before you where born!!!
September 23, 2002: hey dan, if you so much in the know - how come you don't know that a complete painting of Rolling Thunder begins next week!
September 23, 2002: not really big guy, the area where he thinks the coaster is going is way off --- want the true facts listen to a few others on this board - dan is most of the time wrong. watch in the next few weeks when construction fences begin to appear!
September 23, 2002: not saying he is wrong a guessing the public knowledge, from the township meeting. However, the coaster is actually going to go out into the parking area by the main entrance to the park, which, since i was at the public meeting is the actual placement of the B&M Flying coaster - ( the drawings had B&M all over them)
September 30, 2002: Dan as a reply to your post. i am not "causing a problem with you", however take a look at your earlier posts under a different name - attacking people who don't know this board exists is weak - Yeah i worked at the same time you did - however i don't attack people for what there job was or is. So you work at the park, and considering you operated Rolling Thunder since before my birth, in 1984, you must be a supervisor… or at least, you think you’re a supervisor. And, if you are who I think you are, I suggest stopping your incessant negative undertones!
I still don’t understand who I “attacked”, who have families to support! This is a forum about coasters, and the people who ride them; could anyone shed some light on this subject?
On the boards, I’ve given my opinions, and the facts that I know about the inner-workings of the SFGA rides department… nothing derogatory; at least not on purpose. If anyone else on these forums has a problem with this, please let me know!
Yeah, this was off-topic… sorry… had to do it.

I am greatful that you share what a day working at RT is like and, all the behind the scenes stuff that goes on that the rest of us don't know about. It only makes us appreciate you all more. RT is not the most sought after ride in the park but, It certainly is nice to see Ops having fun with their job and, a Dispatched train full of smiling faces and a station shouting YeeHaw is a major plus! If this makes you a dork, I am a dork as well as everyone else who happily participates in the fun. I most certainly hope to see you all return next season and you can count on seeing me in line to enjoy RT with you. I would never have said that I ride RT not only for the Coaster but, the Ops who do a great job running it, 2 or more years ago. It would thrill me to death to see every Coaster crew at gadv interact with Park Patrons in the same manner.

You were born in 1984 Dan? Well that would make Bigshow about 34 if they were in fact operating rides before you were born. Real mature for somebody in their 30's... I would much rather read your more interesting input anyway. This particular comment really amazed me "hey Dan, if you so much in the know - how come you don't know that a complete painting of Rolling Thunder begins next week!" Ever hear the saying "those who know, don't tell"? Even if it IS true, you don't go blasting such comments on a fan site. You come across as a real jerk. Oh crap, now I'm attacking. I'll be quiet now. Sorry if you didn’t want others voicing in Dan. This just really pissed me off because your input is Sooooooo much appreciated on here and none of us want to see you go anywhere.

Just as a new member, and not trying to start something - I find your posts informative, however they are loaded with some jabs at your former bosses as bigshow was pointing out , not supporting bigshow , and i believe he/she was very negative toward you, but you comeover very negative and attacking in some of your posts. With that said, how can i believe what you are saying if you tend to be negative toward your former employer, in your earlier posts?

I worked in a theme park, and I can vouch for the fact that for some reason the higher ups seem to make some really dumb desisions, and they do deserve a certain amount of mockery.
