not saying he is wrong a guessing the public knowledge, from the township meeting. However, the coaster is actually going to go out into the parking area by the main entrance to the park, which, since i was at the public meeting is the actual placement of the B&M Flying coaster - ( the drawings had B&M all over them) Do you mean like behind GASM, as opposed to next to it? Also, if this is true, what section will it be in?

I personally consider the season pass lot behind it, which is where it was initially reported to go. However I'm not quite sure what to make of that post. I mean he did seem to think it was a big thing that it was a B&M which leads me to believe he knows nothing, given that we've all known that for a while, but he's stressing that its a B&M as though that's a secret. As far as being in the plot by the main entrance, I'm not sure how that would work. I mean you could put it over by the garden of eatin, and use some plot space there, and maybe extending movie town. But I think that would be kinda odd. Another possibility is taking the preferred parking/handicapped parking spots up in the front, and put the station in where alcatraz was supposed to be this year, of course that would extend the already rather long entrance plaza, and make for a very odd plot. Anyone have any thoughts? Rob, I'm hoping you can shed some light on this.

Hey guys,
Bunch of people are right here. Yes, it's going into the main parking lot, and yes it will enter the season pass parking lot as well.
The drive into the park will look much different with the new ride placement. Let's just say something will be flying under those blocks on GASM!

That's the general area I had heard for it, but the statement that its going to be near the main entrance made no sense to me what se ever, as I said, either scenario for that wouldn't really work.

So the ride will intertwine with GASM? That's awesome! Lot's of head choppers and near misses. No wait that can't be right. No way they'd get clearance for that . Also, what did happen to that whole Alcatraz thing?

Sure they could get clearance for that, the thing that bothers me about that is that we’ll be flying over stone and pavement. As far as Alcatraz that project failed horribly.

Whoa now, I didn't say it would be placed within the GASM structure... -Rob

No, but if you think about it that would be kinda cool, but as I said, looking at the rocks and pavement would suck. (for the record, all I really said is that they could get clereance for that, not that they would). I'd never heard of it doing anything with GASM but rather staying to the plot. Just curious rob, what's up with gasm?

Nothing is going on with GASM next season. I do have hope that the Boardwalk section of the park will get another face-lift over the off season, with the new coaster going in and all. Although, I very much doubt that happening.
On a side note, I expect the park to do something similar to what SFoG did with their flyer. The "Superman theme" section is only a few feet wide and only was built to make the flyer look as if it is in a correctly themed section. I don’t think they will just throw the entrance for it right in the Boardwalk.

Let's just say something will be flying under those blocks on GASM! I think thats the statment that threw off NITROFIEND, and it confused me for a second as well (hence my asking whats up with GASM) As I said, I haven't heard anything about it going near GASM (obviously it'll be next to gasm, but you know what I mean) As far as the entrance to the ride goes, I had thought that they would put a path in from the boardwalk, as well as one from frontier area, and where those 2 connect the theme would then start and go to the ride (a mini-section). Basically what rob said, but I hope they connect frontier section in as well.

Even though this IS a RT thread, I have 3 things to say:
1.) Regarding the theming of our new flying coaster, if they make a "Metropolis", that's not going to be too much different than a parking lot! There are not a whole lot of "natural landscapes" in a city scene.
2.) GASM is pretty structurally weak... probably the worst ride in that respect in the park... what could they possibly do with it?
3.) Bigshow, why are you always causing trouble with ME? I had a long discussion with some other ride ops who peruse this site, and we're wondering if you're someone we know personally... because you seem VERY interested in proving me wrong! I'm sorry I haven't worked at GA in almost a month and a half, and that YOU know everything.
OK... steam is gone... thanks again to everyone who defended me... ;D

Wait its using that much land This is definitly starting to seem like we are not getting a SUF clone as originally said. I don't see how they would be able to take any supports away from gasm to have the flyer, fly through the structure. Gasm was proven to have major stress fractures a couple years back due to its tiny supports and as far as I've heard there has been no work done to fix it. So, removing or moving around supports on Gasm is most definitly a no no.

As I've said in a couple of my previous posts, I think there is something about the new coaster that they are not telling us yet... . That is more land than needed for a S:UF clone if you ask me. And they wouldn't alter a parking lot for no reason...
