OMG, whats wrong with this ride. This happened to the robin side 2 months ago. They need to figure out why this always happens and fix it for good.

Well Robin has never had a situation where the valley was in such a weird position. I have personally never seen or heard of Batman saddling in such an odd location. Usually it is in the valley after the tophat. I do hope this was a first launch of the day type of situation. As for the ride being broken, there are many problems that could cause a saddle on Chiller or any launch type ride. I would not say this means the ride is "broken" per se. It could be simlpy that an op accidently hit an e-stop after launch. Either way I am sure Gadv. has the situation under control.

Batman has valleyed in that section of track before. Actually, it did that for one of the first times early this season when the park got the new train back and was working out the bugs.
Not a big deal. The early valleyings of this season was due to the new trains needing some work. This is really the first time it has valleyed this season when running reliably. Chiller tends to valley once or twice a season. It should be up and running for next weekend. Should be easy to get the train back into the station. They have cables which will pull it up to the top LIM's and allow the train to coast back into the station. Won't have to remove the trains from the track.

It probably was the first run of the day, and the coaster was cold, so it went slow.
The oil lubricating the wheels and the ball bearings is cold, and thick. As the ride runs the friction heats it up a bit, and it thins out, and so the ride can run faster. For those of you who doubt me on this I had a conversation with a PA state certified ride mechanic on this. He was trained by vekoma.

Thanks everyone for clarifying that this situation is not a dramatic as those pictures let it be.

Dam n I love the Chiller!~ Best ride in the park! I was just on it yesterday! I'm gonna have to get there early one day this fall when it's cold out so I can get stuck on it with the camcorder, lol. Thanks for the tips! ;D BTW, I did film riding the Batman side yesterday. The dispatcher was off the wall messing around with everyone.... He was like- "Everyone put your hands up so we can re-check your seatbelt" then when everyone put their hands up, he launched the ride, lol. Ok, even I didn't expect that one coming, hehe. Anyway, they better have the Chiller rockin' and rollin' and ready to go by next weekend! I have a friend that might be going with us that hasn't been to the park in ten years!!

Boy-o-boy, Will this ride ever run smoothly for a whole season? I think this ride is GA most successful failure. I mean this ride is the best coaster Ive ever been on. And Im sure the Chiller is on many a coaster fans list as No#1. Going to GA and seeing the Chiller closed is like a wasted day for me. The park delivered a perfect ride. But yet, This ride gives the park the most headaches. Its sad to say but to see the Chiller saddled is know longer a surprise. And Ive heard rumors that being that this ride has so many problems the park might remove it . I think that would bum out alot of people. But hopefully this is not a but problem like Rob has said. Hopefully it was just the cold weather and not a mechanical problem. And as for this rumor Ive heard lets hope it not true. I would hate to see the Chiller go. You could replace a ride like Nitro or Medusa but GA could never replace a ride like the CHILLER....

I agree! You see Medusa style rides everywhere... But we've got the one... the only.. no copy-cats... dual track path... LIM launching... looping and reversing... air conditioned hallways ;D ... Batman and Robin; The Chiller!! I mean, that ride doesn't make people walking by stop, turn their heads and watch when it launches for no reason. Don't worry... there's only one way they're removing that ride from the park....... .....Is if they set it up in my backyard!! ;D

Hey guys, I just have to add my two cents in and agree. For a while I had stopped riding Chiller almost completely because I personally (no debate here) thought it was too uncomfortable. However after riding with the new lapbars, I have to admit it is definitely one of the best rides in the park. I now have to make it a point to ride it along with Nitro and Medusa. They did an awesome job with the retrofit, I just hope they can keep it running consistently. After all, most major parks get a "difficult" ride every now and then, just look at Test Track at EPCOT, very cool, yet very complicated. It certainly is nice to have a unique ride that no one else has...similar, but not quite The Chiller...A JERSEY EXCLUSIVE!!! Way to go SF!
