got to the park around 3 with my church to go to the christian rock festival. we stopped near the entrance and ate our lunches and waited for the other church to get here. we then got our tickets and they came and they went in. we had about an hour to do things. we decided to stop by skull mountain because we wanted to ride coasters that didnt have inversions due to some people that didnt like loops. it was pretty packed in the park because of a lot of reasons: the christian rock festival, it was a saturday and labor day weekend. in april the line for skull mountain was short and i expected it to be short again. HOO BOY, WAS I WRONG. about a 45 minute wait. i was the only one without a girlfriend for the day with everyone else having their significant other so i was a little peeved in the day, also my mom also ruined my day about how much money i should bring. she said $40 should be enough (the ticket was already paid for) and i said GOD NO. i wanted to do other stuff to. well, we only went on 2 rides the whole day so it kinda sucked. back to skull mountain. well, i flooded into the "lo-q" seats even though i didnt reserve them: the guy just put me in there. ooh, i feel like a king. ;D and what a ride. good airtime and all in the dark, lovely. after that we headed towards the northern star arena to see jennifer knapp who is a talented young singer. after her it was stacie orrico who we didnt really like so we headed towards nitro. the line was pretty long yet it moved fast nice job ride ops. well since we had 5 people i was the one stuck with the strangers yet i went on before the rest of the group. while i was waiting in the station my group was cheering me on with shouts of "STEVE" and other things. embarrassment ensued. what a little honey this ride is. this baby never fails. smooth as a glass and nice airtime. i love the trim brake and then you think it ends but then the bunny hops come and then it ends. anybody know why the train takes so long to get back to the station? just wondering. i waited for the rest of the group by the exit and we then went back for the best christian rock band in the world, the newsboys. ;D there was some preacher before them so we decided to grab some grub. got some fries and a coke and then they started playing. we then got back and they did a great performance. after the concert we had about an hour to do things. it took us a while to walk over to nitro until we found out it was CLOSED. got a little ticked off there. then we just decided to sit around and talk for a while. we then met up by the fountain and SOME OF OUR GROUP ACTUALLY MET THE NEWSBOYS! they got autographs and everything!i got kinda mad! but even if i didnt meet them we had a good day even if we didnt go on everything and puked 5 times. but it boosted up my park attendance.

Welll, they keep you out there till they dispatch the next train then they bring you in. And if the train is already dispatched then they bring you right in.

Well, many parks have some power issues, escpecially SFGADV, it is one of the biggest power users. Look at Batman And Robin. 1 single Launch has enough power to power Frontier Lands, for 3 Days. They waste too much power. The Friction wheels which bring the train back into the station are very slow, due to the limited power use. If they sped up the wheel, then mor epower would be wasted. And i dont think 5 seconds really matter, they still have a great crew and everything. Also, take a look at nitro's final brake run. its on a downhill, in order to allow gravity to help with the movement of the train if there is an emergency stop or just to allow it to return.
Medusa has the same exact thing. it is so slow on its return. Batman is Slow too, GASM i think has the fast return. Rolling THunder jst takes 3 days but thats a different story.
Did you guys notice that all of our lifts are slow!!! Medusa is soooo slow. I ve ridden Batmam Dark KNight in SFNE, ans its an 110ft lift, and it speeds upto 7 mph! For only a second and then ur done with the lift. Medusa and especially Nitro both have 1 minute lift times. Its very annyoign, that SFGadv cant get a faster lift, but its a power/ money issue.

Rolling Thunder has a pretty quick return. It depends on whether the train needs to stop completly. If there is only 1 train on the track, it can be brought into the station within a few seconds. It also depends on how good the operators are and it will take longer for now.

Yes, you had a very nice trip report Linkinpark. Plus, the whole station of Viper is on a down hill, if you look reall closely you can actually see and feel it, when your walkin up there. Cause as your walkin you can see your walking uphill.
