When I was on Nitro yesterday, I noticed that there is a large crane in the employee parking lot in the exact area that track and supports were stored when Nitro was build. It looks like it could be for unloading coaster parts. I know they are currently setting up for Winter Lights, but I don't think it is for that because why would they put the crane in the middle of the employee parking lot?

I also saw the crane when I was there on Saturday. Now being that some of the light displays are rather tall, I would assume it's for them. As far as why would they park the crane there, where else would you want them to park it? If it was for off loading coaster parts wouldn't they not bring it out until they gone some?

Well I doubt its for the lights since they didnt use it for the lights that are already set up and some are prity big.
I dont think its to build the new coaster but I DO think is to unload track from the trucks!

I would imagine they would have had to use the crane for some of the lights, especily the ones that are on the overpass just outside the park.

While it could have something to do with the new coaster, I highly doubt it. This could be for anything. It could be for fright fest, for tall displays that they can't move without the rane. It could also be for winter lights, though I doubt that cause from what I knoe PNC doesn't need a crane for their light show, so I don't see why Gadv would need one. It could even be for the already current coasters. Maybe, they have decided to get all new lims for the spike on chiller and are using the crane to hoist the mechanics up there to put them up. And its right before the cold weather comes. Reme, ber what was said at the beginning of the season, that they weren't sure if Batman's side of chiller would be able to make it back to the station in cold weather maybe for that reason they got new lims for it now to make sure that wont happen. But, who knows.

Uh-uh... there's a high reach on each side of the park used for that kind of maintainance work, and for unloading saddled roller coaster trains (or stranded cable cars, etc.). I would guess (not knowing anything about this crane...) that it's for some sort of new construction.

Dan, at the beginning of the summer, they were using the crane for that exact reason, hoisting the workers onto chiller's spike. I personally didn't see it, but I know of at least two on the boards that did. Remember chiller is the second tallest coaster in the park at 200 ft. the workers might just be lazy and not wanna walk up the whole 200 ft.

Another thing to keep in mind is that yes, PNC didn't need a crane, but if you look at the entrance bridge, there are lights on the side of it. Probably needed to be hoisted into that position.
