to answer a question asked before: the intamin rocket coasters have about the same lengh of launch track as chiller does if not shorter. but instead of using LIMS, it uses, a hydralic launch that on Xcellerator, tested at 110 miles per hour, and there were still fluids left over for sfaster launches.

Schwarzkoph, sorry if my last post seemed a little hostile, I didn't mean it.
Linkinpark, thats a good question. Has anyone here been on hypersonic, or xcelerator?

Good to hear. Does anyone know whethere or not the S&S design is capable of any layouts with more elements? I mean the launch is great and all, but a little more of a ride afterwards cant hurt.

Hypersonic is not running Perfectly at all when I was there a few weeks ago the latch that pulls the train went and the car didnt the ride was broke down for about 4 hrs! It sseams it didnt hook to the train because one of the shocks for th ewheels was stuck extended and it didnt line the train up right. When the worker were TRYING to fix it they were hitting it with all sorts of things. There foot, Hand, Wrench, Screwdriver, Sleghammer, I was waiting for them to bring in a jack hammer!

well i went there in the summer and they had just opened it with the new trains.........it ran perfectly the whole time i was there......but they had like a soft reopening and only let a certain amount of people in the line at a time......but everything was going great when i was there........so the launch mechanism must have taken some wear and tear........i am pround to say that i got 5 fabulous rides on it...........as for superman coming in more than one way......i am hoping that we get a nice metropolis themed area with maybe a well running flat themed in with the area.......but one can only hope

yeah it would be great if great adventure actually tried to be a "theme" park again!!
I think it would be pretty cool, if they put up some fake buildings and stuff, and I also think a flat or 2 and a new drop tower would go great in Metropolis. If not that, at least a queue line similar to SROS in SFNE, and some landscaping under the coaster(please, make a tunnel)

given the location that we are seeing land cleared now the chances of theming extensively for the new coaster are looking a little slim since it looks to be integrated with the boardwalk area a bit. But it would be great to have SF actually step up to the challenge of being a theme park.

accutually a dro tower would fit perfectly in the metroplis area....think of this..... **dream sequence** the drop tower stands 30 stories high (300ft) and atop it is a statue of lex luthor....you get "pushed foreward" (using intmains tilt-seat design" and are "pushed" off the tower by Luthor. then at the area where the magnetic brakes would kick in there is a superman statue on the roof of the load platform (SFKK has a roof above their load platform just incase a smartass tries the coin trick or has some "projectile" off the top of the tower) have superman statues "standing in midair" (on a little platform above the roofthat moves) and have him "catch" you with the magnetic brakes and have the statue and your seats lower to unload at the same time, and then as the new passengers are getting on and dragged up to the top the statue would move back into position to catch the new riders. **end dream sequence*** wait a sec, what am i saying....six flags doesnt do themeing....like that, so why cant we have a universal park with DC characters? that ride would be awesome.

Six Flags does do theming...just not at Six Flags parks. Look at Hurricane Harbor. Or if you want an even better example go to oneclick.com and look at their Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid gallery. That is run and was built from scratch by Six Flags, and the theming there looks amazing. I am very fortunate to have the chance to visit there within a year, and I have to say it looks like my dream park: The rides and characters of Six Flags, the management of Cedar Fair, and the the theming of Universal. This proves that SF can, but for some reason or another, doesn't do theming...at least in this country.

you really liked my idea? thanks dude, i just thought of it when i was reaidng baout a possible drop tower in the metropolis section. i really should sent that type of idea in to GA rides department. i accutually think they could pull it off. anyone have any other ideas that could be put into use for a drop tower and flyer combo area?
