I just got back from Gadv and they have begun to rip up the parking lot and have fenced off the section where the coaster is going to be. The strange thing is that it is not in the season's pass parking lot but more towards the front gate. The fenced off area stretched from a little past Scream Machines block brakes to toward the front entrance. It is a fairly large area.

I don't know. I think you're confused with the preferred parking fence. And as for the lot being torn up, it's always like that ;D.

No, Its true. I was also at GA today and the parking lot as been ripped up. After you go through the parking pay both and start down the main parking road the coaster will be right in front of you and you have to make a right to go around the fenced off area. Its not in the seasons pass lot. The seasons pass lot is to the left. Here we are making a right to go around it. Its right next to Scream Machine. After the third loop you go up to the Block Brake and thats the side where the new coaster will be. So if you where rideing SM, the new coaster will be on your right when you hit the block brakes right before the boomerang loop. As for Fright Fest, It was pretty good this year. The Hey Ride was OK. The Circus area was the best though.

Yup, and before people moan about me only having a few posts The parking lot from the main gate over to almost the start of the current season pass lot is torn up about 100 yards out from the park fence. It even has Superman signs on it. Seems like Superman and whatever themed section they add with it will be off the end of the current Boardwalk, sticking out into the section A area of the main lot. Kinda bad position though if you ask me since it takes a BIG bite out of the good spots in the normal parking area near the main gate!

Now this makes me think more Because about a month ago when I was there I notised 2 Marks spray painted on the ground. I thought nothing of it becaus I thought all work would be in the Season Pass Parking Lot. So Ive posted this pic to show the two spots (about) where they were. And Im wondering if you could explain with a map the location your talking about im still confused. ~PEACE~

Bah! Sorry guys, but I'll believe this only when I see it with my very own eyes and only then. No offense or anything, but ive heard too many false rumors about this new ride to believe anyone anymore. Like that first one I heard- "The track is there, you can see it from Medusa's first drop" and stuff like that. The only thing you're seeing from Medusa's first drop is a bunch of monkeys ripping peoples vehicles apart. Oh well, I'll hopefully be there sometime this weekend to see for myself.

I wouldn't be surprised if when track started arriving they put it out in plain view, like they had it at CP when I went on labor day weekend. They're really adveritizing this ride a lot, which is a great move on their part, and putting track out so that everyone could see it would just be another, and possibly more effective, way to do so.

It is very true... I am actually on the phone with a very reliable source right now, and I was surprised to here land clearing had begun.
Unfortunately, I did hear that they are not connecting the Boardwalk and Frontier Adventures. I am not sure if the parking lot they have started to clear will be for the queue, or the theming, or the ride itself... it could be any one of those, you know. Grr...
Can't wait to see the clearing myself...
Oh yeah, Rolling Thunder will be undergoing a major PAINT JOB this off-season. It's going to be COMPLETELY CLEANED and PAINTED. Wow! Besides retracking, I think that's all they're doing this year.

From what I recall from studying the area last night, it sticks about as far into the main lot as the farthest dot in Mr Spock's picture. The clearing also extends for the entire length of the fence from where the entrance to the main gate starts, all the way to the start of the season pass lot. So in other words, the new area looks to be a possible extension to the far end of the Boardwalk area. I understand people not putting much faith in people with few posts, but short of getting you all to get to the park more often to see it with your own eyes, I would recommend not killing the messenger. Perhaps if you saw a person didn't just signup that night to post something silly, you'd be a better judge of credibility.

I went yesterday and was suprised to see how large the cleared spot was. It looks like it's enough space for an entire Superman themed section.
