Nitro, I know you have probaby already thought this, but ride ops do not decide whether the flying coaster will be built or not. I hope you are going there to introduce yourself and compliment them if neccessary. Not enough people do that.

Hey Dan, next time I go do you want me to tell GR how much we miss the great ops at GASM and Rolling Thunder? Really though, all enthusiest should try to put in a good word once in awhile. It does make a diffference. I don't think this rumor is true however. I'm not even sure if they have "officially" decided on a location as of yet. It would be really difficult to deliver track if they weren't sure of the surroundings. Happy hunting anyway

Only if you want to Wade. It may tell the Park something, change something. I think getting rid of John Wilson would change things. He's the supervisor in charge of Rides that...never worked a ride (and used to bad mouth the department when he was in Grounds.)
They don't give the slightest HOW their operators work, as long as the ride is staffed. If anybody wants that to change, Guest Relations is the place to go.
As far as the flying coaster, well it's all about money. We don't need it, but has the park generated enough money? Parts should arrive by October or later. Nitro is a much bigger coaster where track arrived earlier.

I'll be sure to let them know. Part of my current job is customer relations. I'm good at it and I know how to put it back at them:) As for the flyer, is it still planned to be another pavement coaster? There still seems to be the slightest chance that the surveying in the parking lot was for the lights show this winter. All in all I would personally rather have all of the flats running and some fixing up done like painting Rolling Thunder. I know, in my dreams...

IMO, I think we do need a flyer. We really don't have the "newer" technoloogical coasters like other parks have: air launched coaster, flyers, 4D's, gigas. We still have coasters of the 20th century, I'd like to see one of the 21st. What the park has been doing with their money I have no idea, but they didn't use that much this year and being the fact that they were the top grossing SF and regional park last year, they should have nough money.

The chiller launch is a modern tech ride in my opinion.

I see what you mean, but its still not a 21st century ride. The only 21st century rides are: gigas (intamin), flyers (Vekoma, B&M), 4D's (arrow), Air Powered launch (S&S)

JJ, if you look at it that way, then you would have to see that we didn't get a wooden coaster of the 1980's or 1990's. We also have never had a darkride. Six of 16 proposed rides of the original Enchanted Forest park at Great Adventure were to be darkrides. We also haven't had many new iconic buidings since 1974.
However, we have received steel coasters in:
EDIT: 1974 (2), 1975, 1976 (2), 1978 (2-Counting WildCat), 1986, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 (count Chiller either way), 1999 (3) and 2001, (and in some repects, Chiller became a new ride with the lapbars in 2001 & 2002.)
We have received steel looping coasters in 1978, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1997, 1998, and in 1999.
EDIT: We have received a B&M-like steel coaster with four-across seating on trains with no/very low floors with a 54-inch height requirement in 1990, 1993, 1999, and 2001.
I know I have posted too many facts over the past day, and it isn't often that I take vacations. But I think it's time to be fair to everyone.

Not to bust your stones dan ;D but in 90', shockwave was a standup Intiman with 2 across. I don't remember the height requirement though. We only have had 3 B&M's and hopefully no more. We need unique attractions that stand out from the rest of the parks. Don't worry though, you still know far more than I do EDIT : brain fart. It did have 4 across. If you want to be technical, it is also B&M technology. I almost forgot how B&M was formed as a company.
